What to Do After Registering on Binance

· About 9 min

First Thing: Complete Identity Verification (KYC)

After successfully registering your account, the top priority is completing KYC identity verification. This is not something you should put off.

Unverified accounts have extremely low withdrawal limits and can't access fiat purchase features — essentially, you can look but can't do anything. KYC verification usually takes just a few minutes: upload your document photos and wait for review. In most cases, you'll be approved the same day.

How to start: Click on your profile icon in the top right corner, then Identity Verification, and follow the prompts to upload your documents and complete facial recognition.

Second Thing: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Once KYC is done, immediately set up two-factor authentication. This is the single most important step for protecting your account.

Binance supports several 2FA methods:

Google Authenticator (Recommended): Install the Google Authenticator app on your phone, scan the QR code to link it, and from then on, every login and withdrawal will require a 6-digit dynamic code generated by the app. This method doesn't rely on cellular signal and offers the highest level of security.

SMS Verification: A verification code is sent to your phone when you log in. It's convenient but less secure than Authenticator, as it's vulnerable to SIM swap attacks.

Binance App Verification: If you've already installed and logged into the Binance App, you can use push notifications for verification.

Google Authenticator is strongly recommended. When setting it up, make sure to write down the backup key (a string of letters and numbers) and store it in a safe place — you'll need it to recover access if you lose your phone.

Third Thing: Understand How to Deposit Funds

With your account set up, the next step is getting money into it. Binance supports several deposit methods:

Fiat Purchase (C2C/P2P): Find a merchant on the Binance platform and buy stablecoins like USDT directly with CNY or other fiat currencies. This is ideal for first-time deposits and works similarly to online shopping.

Bank Card / Credit Card Purchase: Some countries support direct credit card purchases, though fees are relatively higher.

Transfer from Another Wallet or Exchange: If you already have crypto on another platform, you can send it directly to your Binance deposit address. Before transferring, make sure the network type and address are correct — otherwise, your assets will be permanently lost.

For beginners, keep your first deposit small. Test the entire process with a small amount first, then increase once you've confirmed everything works correctly.

Fourth Thing: Set Up a Withdrawal Whitelist

This is an important security feature that many people overlook.

Go to the Security Center and find "Withdrawal Address Management" or "Address Whitelist." Once enabled, only addresses you've pre-added and verified can be used for withdrawals. Even if your account is compromised, hackers won't be able to transfer funds to unfamiliar addresses, buying you time to respond.

After adding an address for the first time, there's typically a 24-48 hour cooling period during which the address can't be used for withdrawals — this is an intentional security feature built into the platform.

Fifth Thing: Familiarize Yourself with the Interface

Before making any trades, spend 10 minutes clicking through the menus to get familiar with the layout.

Key areas to learn: Wallet > Spot — this shows your asset balances; Trade > Spot Trading — this is where you buy and sell; Orders — where you view your trading history.

Don't click on anything you don't understand, especially futures/margin trading — these carry extremely high risk and beginners should stick to spot trading only.
