Where to Enter a Binance Referral Code

· About 8 min

What Is a Referral Code and Why Does It Matter

A Binance invitation code, also called a referral code, is a string of letters and numbers. When you sign up using someone's referral code, both parties benefit: as a new user, you receive a trading fee discount (typically a percentage off trading fees), and the person who referred you earns a commission.

For beginners, using a referral code during registration costs you nothing but provides a long-term fee discount — it's a perk worth taking advantage of.

When to Enter the Referral Code During Registration

The referral code can only be entered when creating a new account — this is extremely important to understand.

During the registration process, on the same page where you enter your email and password, there's a collapsible input field at the bottom labeled "Referral Code (Optional)" or "Invitation Code (Optional)." Click to expand it and enter the code.

If you reached the registration page by clicking a referral link shared by a friend, the code is usually auto-filled — you don't need to enter it manually. You'll see the field already populated.

If you went directly to the Binance website to register, you'll need to manually find and fill in this field.

Using a Referral Link Instead of Manually Entering a Code

A referral link is an alternative method that works exactly the same as manually entering a code, but is more convenient and less error-prone.

Click this link to go to the registration page: Register on Binance (with referral code). The page will automatically apply the referral discount, and you'll enjoy trading fee reductions after completing registration — no need to memorize or type any code.

A referral link is currently the simplest method, and you won't miss out on discounts due to mistyping a code.

Already Registered and Forgot to Enter the Code?

This is a common regret — realizing you forgot to enter a referral code after registering.

Unfortunately, Binance currently does not support adding a referral code or referral relationship after account creation. The code only takes effect at the moment of registration, and once the account is created, it cannot be changed.

If the discount matters a lot to you and your account was recently created with no funds deposited, you could theoretically register a new account (with a different email) and correctly enter the referral code. But this only makes sense if the account is completely empty — otherwise, it's not worth the hassle.

How Long Does the Referral Discount Last

After registering with a referral code, the trading fee discount is typically permanent — not just a one-time or temporary benefit. As long as you continue trading on Binance, you'll keep enjoying the discount.

Discount rates vary by referral program, commonly offering 10%, 20%, or even higher fee rebates. For high-volume traders, these savings can add up to a substantial amount over time.

Can't Find the Referral Code Field During Registration?

A small number of users report not being able to find the referral code input field on the registration page. Possible reasons:

  • If registering through the App, the layout differs slightly from the web version — the referral code field may be at the bottom of the page, requiring you to scroll down
  • The browser didn't fully load the page — refresh and try again
  • You entered through a referral link, and the code is already automatically applied — no manual input needed

The simplest solution is always: just use a referral link to register and skip the hassle entirely.
