How to Get Your Money Back After a Binance P2P Order Was Cancelled Despite Payment

· About 8 min

What Happens When You Pay But the Order Gets Cancelled

In Binance C2C (P2P) trading, you select a merchant, place an order, transfer the payment as required, and then find the order showing "Cancelled" when you check back on Binance. The money is already in the other party's account, but you haven't received the crypto. This is understandably nerve-wracking.

Don't panic — while troublesome, funds can be recovered in most cases. Let's analyze the specific causes and solutions.

Common Reasons for Order Cancellation

Didn't Click "I've Paid" Before Timeout

This is the most common cause. C2C orders have a payment countdown (typically 15–30 minutes). You must complete payment AND click the "I've Paid" confirmation button on Binance before the countdown ends.

Many newcomers put down their phone after completing the bank transfer and forget to go back to Binance to confirm. When the countdown expires, the system automatically cancels the order — but your money is already sent.

Seller Cancelled Before You Marked Payment

In rare cases, if the seller cancels the order before you mark payment but after you've already transferred funds, this situation occurs.

If you don't have a Binance account yet, register on Binance first to understand C2C trading rules.

Steps to Handle a Cancelled Order After Payment

Step 1: Save All Evidence

Immediately screenshot: the Binance order details page (including order number and status), your bank or payment platform transfer records, chat history with the seller (if any), and transfer success notifications.

Step 2: Contact the Seller for a Refund

Find the seller's information on the Binance order page and contact them through the platform's chat feature. Most legitimate merchants will agree to refund after seeing your payment proof.

Step 3: File an Appeal

If the seller doesn't respond or refuses to refund, click "Appeal" on the order details page. Upload your payment evidence, and Binance's dispute resolution team will intervene.

Step 4: Cooperate with Binance's Investigation

Support may request additional proof. Cooperate actively and provide information truthfully.

Step 5: Wait for the Ruling

Binance will rule based on evidence from both parties. If your payment proof is solid, the refund request is typically supported.

How to Prevent This From Happening Again

  • Ensure your payment method can complete within the countdown before placing the order
  • Click "I've Paid" immediately after completing the transfer
  • Only pay from accounts matching your Binance verified identity
  • Strictly follow the seller's designated payment method
  • Choose verified merchants with high ratings and many completed orders
  • Never trade outside the platform

Appeal Considerations

Appeals succeed when: you have clear payment proof, payment was within the order validity period, the amount matches, and the paying account matches your verified identity.

Appeals may be unfavorable when: evidence is missing or unclear, payment was after the cancellation time, a non-personal account was used, or the amount doesn't match.

Simple cases resolve in 1–3 business days. Cases requiring further investigation may take longer.

C2C Trading Safety Rules

The most important principle: "Stay on the platform, don't trust pressure tactics, keep all evidence."

Handle all issues through official Binance channels. Never believe third parties claiming to "expedite processing" or provide "emergency refunds."
