Many users report being unable to log in after updating the Binance App to a new version — getting wrong password errors, verification failures, or a frozen screen. In most cases, this is a data issue from the update process, not an account problem. Don't panic.
Force-Close the App and Reopen
If things seem off on the first launch after updating, fully close the app (don't just press back — swipe it away from your recent apps list), wait a few seconds, then reopen it. The app often needs to reinitialize local data after an update, and the first launch may be unstable. Closing and reopening usually fixes it.
Clear App Data
If the login still fails after multiple attempts, try clearing the app data:
- Android: Settings → App Management → Binance → Storage → Clear Data (note: this is "Clear Data," not "Clear Cache" — it will reset your local login state)
- iOS: Uninstall the app and reinstall it
After clearing data, you'll need to re-enter your account credentials, so make sure you remember your login information.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Issues
The most common post-update issue is Google Authenticator codes not matching. This is usually because your phone's clock is inaccurate. Here's how to check:
- Open Google Authenticator → Settings → Time correction for codes
- Make sure your phone's system time is set to "Automatic"
- Try logging in again with the corrected verification code
If the codes still won't work no matter what, you may need to go through Binance's account appeal process to reset your 2FA, which requires identity verification.
Verify You Installed the Correct Version
Occasionally, users accidentally install an unofficial or beta version. Uninstall the current version and download the latest official Binance App from the proper source, making sure the version number matches the official release.
Try Logging In on the Web to Check Your Account Status
If the app won't let you log in no matter what you try, use a desktop browser to log into the Binance web platform and verify that your account hasn't been frozen or restricted. If the web platform works fine, the problem is isolated to the mobile app — reinstalling should resolve it. If you can't log in on the web either, contact Binance official support for help.
