How to Log Into Binance on a New Phone

· About 6 min

What to Do Before You Switch Phones

If you haven't switched yet, the best approach is to prepare on your old phone first. Open Google Authenticator, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, select "Transfer accounts" → "Export accounts," and a QR code will appear. On your new phone, install Google Authenticator, select "Import accounts," and scan the QR code from your old phone. All your authenticator entries will sync over. This is the smoothest method — no need to contact support at all.

What If You No Longer Have Your Old Phone

If your old phone is lost, broken, or sold, don't panic. First, check whether you saved the 16-character backup key when you originally set up Google Authenticator. If you have it, install Google Authenticator on your new phone, tap "+", select "Enter a setup key," and manually enter the backup key to restore your Binance authenticator.

SMS and Email Verification Still Work

Switching phones doesn't affect SMS or email verification codes. As long as your phone number hasn't changed (your SIM card is still active), you'll continue to receive SMS codes as usual. Email verification codes are completely independent of your phone and can be received on any device. So if you have SMS or email verification enabled as secondary verification methods, they won't be affected by switching phones.

No Backup Key Either: Apply for a 2FA Reset

If you've lost your old phone and your backup key, you'll need to go through the reset process. On the Binance login page, enter your email and password, then at the 2FA verification step, tap "Unable to verify" or "Lost authenticator." The system will guide you through an identity verification process, which usually requires uploading a photo of your ID and completing facial recognition. Once approved, the system will unbind your old authenticator, and you can log back in and set up a new one.

This reset process typically takes 1–3 business days, during which your account will have limited functionality.

Things to Do After Logging Into a New Device

After successfully logging in on your new phone, go to the Security Center and check the "Device Management" list — remove the login record for your old phone. Also confirm that all your security settings are intact, including 2FA, anti-phishing code, and withdrawal whitelist. You can download the Binance App directly to your new phone — just make sure you're getting it from an official source.
